I know it’s been all about the maximalist trend recently! But I’m always on the look out to see what others are doing. Kerry Washington recently let AD in to her Manhattan apartment to see her style and what she’s chosen for her for her family while she is performing American Son on Broadway.
The apartment is amazing with views over looking the Hudson river and over to New Jersey. So while Kerry Washington is on assignment, away from the family home in Los Angeles she partnered with the design team at RH. As you’ve already guessed it’s not the maximalism look. And the design team at RH did what they do best. Creating a transitional, cozy and “lived in” feel. I think it looks great. It goes to show that when done right, it can still be timeless with personality and character.
Kerry points out some of her favourite pieces in the home. The Cloud sectional for obvious reasons! It is amazing, so comfortable! The huge dining table with the cool dining chairs. Among the favourites, a cherished decor item is an abstract, graffiti painting by General Public. Her friend Portia de Rossi started the company which produces 3D art prints of paintings to get a textured more authentic feel of the original canvas for customers. The General Public collection is also available on the RH website. Another essential for the actress is her Vitamix. Not RH related! But she swears by it for her morning wake up call.
Here’s a few more essentials from Kerry’s RH apartment to get the look!
The Dining Room
You can watch Kerry give the home tour of her Manhattan apartment on Architectural Digest. Links for the Vitamix are below. Let me know what you think of Kerry Washington’s NYC apartment and what your favourite pieces from RH are!
